North American Harvard AT-6 Alpha 0.5

Note:
This is only an aircraft I played around with for my own pleasure. It's only an external model plus flightmodel for the Harvard. It's extremly tricky on take-off's and landings. I suggest you TURN OFF PROP EFFECTS in the Realism window unless you can handle it well. You can also handle it better if you have rudder pedals with toe brakes. Please be patient, I'm able to handle it fine and so should you after some practice.

Future plans is to add panels and sounds.

This model does not have a moving elevator and the propeller seems to be located a bit too low. It still works fine.

Apply 36" (manifold pressure) for take-off
Lift off at 85 kts
Climb out at 95Kts at 32"
Cruise at 110 kts at 29"
Approach at 80 kts.
use 15 or 25 deg flaps for landing.
Max 36" for aerobatics.

Vso 60 kts
Vs1 65 kts
V approach 80 kts
V glide 90 kts
V climb (normal) 95 (reduce 2.5/2000' AFTA) kts
V climb (max. @ max. cont. power 100 kts
Vfe 110 kts
Vlo 130 kts
Vle 145 kts
V max. ail. deflection (one G) 165 kts
Vne (normal) 210 kts
Vne (aerobatic) 225 kts
Max positive G load 5.67G

Snap rolls are fun with this aircraft. Snaps are generally nice and crisp at 4 G's (for all aircraft). To pull 4 G's in a snap = Square root of 4 x Vso. Vso is 60 kts so 120 kts will give you exactly 4 G's.

Be VERY careful with rudder on the ground. These aircraft has a high C of G and are very tail heavy. As a result, they ground loop very easy. If you loose it on the ground, attempt to correct with rudder, throttle and toe brakes.

To manouver on ground for taxiing: Go VERY slow. These aircraft ground loops easiest at 20-35 kts. It will completly swing around. This happens in real life as well if not handled properly.

Make sure you always take off and land into the wind. If there is a cross wind, do NOT cross control with rudder or crab. Approach with a wing into the wind and make sure you're lined up to the runway when you touch down.
