to remove airports from the file TAXIUSA.POD?
This
file contains all taxiways delivered with original Fly! II and it is located in
...\Fly! II\taxiways. This directory also contains a second taxiways file for Canada..
Concerning
France, there are 10 airports for which TRI did not succeed in doing taxiways drawing.
Here is

When
you wish to add corrected taxiways for these airports, it happens that Fly! does
not support that, so I suggest you to remove them with Fly! II editor.
Starting
Start
Fly! II while depressing CTRL key. This screen must appear.

Click
on ‘File Manager...’ button. You must get this:

First step:
extract all files from this POD

Keyboard
2 for selecting 'Extract ALL files from a .POD'
·
Click on
YES
·
With
Up/Down arrows move the green line to directory 'Taxiways' (with a 's')
·
Click on OK or keyboard Enter
·
Do again the
step above to select the file Taxiusa.pod
·
Fly!, now, checks
the files and extracts them into …\Fly! II\data.
Second step:
prepare the files list for buiding a file POD (
‘response file ‘)
·
Keyboard
6 for selecting 'Catalog a POD to a response file'
·
Choose
the file Taxiusa.pod as above
·
Once
the file .POD selected, keyboard a name, for example 'taxiusa.txt'. This file
will be saved into …\Fly! II
Third step:
modify the ‘response file’
·
Open
the file 'taxiusa.txt' with your favorite text editor such as NotePad or
UltraEdit
·
Remove
all lines concerning airports to be deleted. Caution, there are 2 lines for each
airport (*.TMS et *.BGR)

Save
this file
Fourth
step: build the file POD
·
Keyboard
4 for selecting 'Build a POD from a response file'
·
Keyboard
the ‘response file’ name that is taxiusa.txt (complete name with extension)
·
Click on OK or press Enter
·
You
will get this:

With
Up/Down arrows move the green line to ‘POD filename’. Click on OK or press
Enter
·
Keyboard
‘taxiusa.pod’. Click on OK or press Enter
·
Next
window, click on ‘Cancel’ or
press ‘Escape'
·
With
Up/Down arrows move the green line to ‘Go for it’. Click on OK or press
Enter
·
Next
window for the volume name, click on OK or press
Enter
·
The
file reconstitution starts… You will find it in …\Fly! II
·
Click on
OK or press Enter when the file reconstitution is ended
·
Now, you have to move it into …\Fly! II\taxiways
(with a 's') for replacing the previous one that you have alredy saved.... I hope!
Fifth
step: exit from editor
·
Press
‘Escape’
·
You must get
the first screen: click on Quit
Never forget
to clear the repertory …\Fly! II\data\ otherwise you will get a 'Bill' blue screen
at next Fly! start!
How to create your taxiways library?
First
step: collect all TMS and BGR files
/data/lfrs.bgr
/data/lfrs.tms
/data/lfpg.bgr
/data/lfpg.tms ....
Save this file into repertory
..\Fly! II.
Second step: start Fly ! editor
Start Fly! II while depressing CTRL key. This screen must appear:

Click on ‘File Manager...’ button. You must get this:

Third step:
create the POD file. You find again the fourth step seen above in the first part

the name of the ‘response file’ that is 'MyPod.txt' (complete name with
extension), click on OK or press Enter

must get this:

Up/Down arrows move the green line to ‘POD filename’. Click on OK or press
Enter

Keyboard
‘MyPod.pod’. Click on OK or press Enter
·
Next window
click on ‘Cancel’ or
press ‘Escape’
·
With
Up/Down arrows move the green line to ‘POD version to build’.
Press Enter: you will see POD3 and grey lower lines becoming white
·
You can put a comment
if you want (copyright for example) by moving the green line to
'Comment'; click on OK or press Enter
·
With
Up/Down arrows move the green line to ‘Go for it’. Click on OK
or press Enter
·
Next window fot the
volume name, click on OK or press Enter
·
The
file reconstitution starts… You will find it in …\Fly! II
·
Click
on OK or press Enter when the file reconstitution is ended
·
Now,
you have to move it into …\Fly! II\taxiways (with a 's') for replacing the previous
one that you have alredy saved.... I hope!

step: exit from editor
